This project was quite demanding as none of us programmers had worked on a 3D in TGE before. We used the engine from Traum (TGE), which was only developed with 2D in mind. As the only person in our group who had worked with the engine before, I started working on making everything compatible with a 3D world. It took some time, but it was well worth it when we could start developing systems and actually see them.

My main focus for this project was engine work. As I said before, I converted everything to work in 3D. I created a simple particle system to use for splatter effects and campires. I also made a decal shader for blood trails and other ground effects. It wasn’t my intention for this project, but I also had to work on the UI system and extend it to include HUD elements.

As we lost a couple of programmers to burnout, I had to pick up the slack and fix some issues with the player’s movement and checkpoint system.
